Join our team! Galloway Ridge is an upscale continuing care retirement community located between Chapel Hill and Pittsboro in Chatham County, NC. We are currently seeking a Chef de Partie to join our team on a Full-Time basis! This position is responsible for the production and oversight of production foods. This is accomplished through accurate prep, adherence to standardized recipes and focus on accuracy. Works to ensure all culinary operations are in compliance with Galloway Ridge and departmental procedures, employee handbook, state and federal health and food regulations. Supervises line members to ensure quality and consistency of all food items leaving the kitchen.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Prep, production and oversight of standardized recipes or caterings, cooking techniques, production charts, temperature logs, breakdown procedures. Prepping for the next shift and ensuring teamwork.
• Ensures that lines are closed properly at the end of the shift and that all is ready to open for the next shift. Cleans and sanitizes.
• Supervision and training of line cooks to maintain standards.
• Running shifts on own without the supervision of a Chef.
• Training line cooks, effectively communicating and executing daily specials and assignments.
• All other duties assigned include, but not limited to, enhancing the Resident Experience.

Requirements

• Must be able to perform simple arithmetic to handle and comprehend measurements and conversions.
• Must be able to perform simple tasks.
• Must have at least three years’ of culinary experience.
• Supervisory of line cooks.
• Servesafe Certification or ability to obtain.
• Culinary degree or formal culinary training preferred.
