Job Summary:
Pratt & Whitney is looking for a manager to lead Customer Part Return (CPR) crib improvement efforts using quality improvement tools, to implement LEAN operations.
- Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Compliance. Ensure all EHS procedures and periodic maintenance for crib area and equipment is complied with.
- Inventory Management. Monitor and reduce excessive inventory within the crib – by coordination of timely investigation and part routing with Engineering CIPT’s – all programs.
- Direct report supervision. Manage employees to accomplish daily activities, and coordinate weekend coverage for urgent shipment arrivals and routing.
- Work closely with crib attendants, support personnel, CTS/IPT Engineers, and agencies to ensure optimum, efficient movement of materials, and maintain CPR inventory system integrity. Ensure that CPR Crib Material Handler complies with CPR Crib Material Scrap Control Procedures
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with CTS Manager, shop support personnel, engineers, shippers, vendors, and others to actively promote and ensure optimum, efficient flow of materials, and CPR system accuracy.
- Prioritize part movement activities within the and outside the crib. Assist in creation of shipping documents and Reconcile shipping issues.
- Ensure crib is equipped with supplies provided through various suppliers, either ordered by the CPR Crib Material Handler or by the CPR Crib Supervisor.
- Coordinate inventory reports with Outsourced suppliers (currently Belcan) and provide management reports to crib manager.
- Lead software replacement development for Lotus notes/CPR system
- Develop innovative solutions to present to management to create a Lean flow of material and investigation activity.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) in Business, Finance, Manufacturing, or Engineering.
- 5+ years of Engineering experience, or 3+ years with an advanced degree
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
- Experience in Quality Assurance, Material Logistics, Supply Chain, and Wearhouse.
- Familiarity with turbine engine hardware
- Direct supervisory experience of hourly employees.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching, and process execution.
