Engineering Specialist - Controls

In this position... 

Lead problem solving to assist plants and implementation teams in resolving equipment and conveyor performance issues and downtime. 

What you'll do...

• Use Vis Plant monitoring software to review cycle times of automation, review and follow up automation project's and installations
• Troubleshoot PLC, robot, and other automation problems
• Update program backups for automation 
• Program new installations of Body tooling and conveyor systems
• Reprogram automation for engineering changes and improvements 
• Coordinate automation campaigns

You'll have... 

• High school diploma or GED
• 3 or more years of Controls Engineering experience 
• Siemens Step7 or TIA Portal Experience
• Ability to read Electrical Drawings
• Ability to modify Electrical Drawings in AutoCAD
• Some Robot programming experience
• General understanding of the following: VFDs, Profinet Networks, IO Blocks, Servos, LVDTs, RFID, Sensors, Prox, Laser, Pressure, Level, Etc.

Even better, you may have...

• Bachelors Degree
• Electrical background (electrician or technician) preferred
• Familiar with PLC/CNC (Siemens/ Allen-Bradley), VFD, Servo, Profinet, ABB and FANUC Robots
• Solid understanding of laser burning
• Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, modify electrical schematics and use AutoCAD
• Validated ability to troubleshoot equipment and continuously evaluate for process improvements
• Experience with conveyor system programming and overhead Gantry
• Solid understanding of networking to include DH+, Ethernet and remote IO
• Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
• Lean Tools – 5S, Kanban, Poka-Yoke, Value Stream Mapping experience
• Understanding of 8D, FMEA, and DMAIC processes
• Familiar with TQM and Kaizen methods
• One or more years of experience with MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)
• Knowledge of simulation modeling and visual factory management preferred
• Past experience with Siemens 840Ds
• WinCC HMI programming
• Siemens Scalence Network Switches knowledge
• Siemens Starter Programming
• Atlas Copco Nutrunner Experience
• A general understanding of nutrunners
• Cognex Camera Programming
• General knowledge or experience in WinCC, VMWare, IIoT, ABB RobotStudio, AutoDesk Vaul and Ford FAST PLC Template
