Position Description

The Department of Public Health at the University of Mississippi is seeking applications for a nine-month, non-tenure track position as Instructional Assistant Professor in Public Health. Applicants should have a Ph.D. or equivalent in public health or a closely related field, ABDS considered.   Preference will be given to applicants who hold a master's degree in public health or a related field (e.g., MPH, MS, MHS). Preference will be given for record of excellence in teaching (in person and online) and experience with CEPH accreditation. The position may begin as early as January 2025.

 

The candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate-level public health courses, advise undergraduate and graduate practicum courses, work with public health faculty on administration of the public health program, CEPH accreditation and assist with student recruitment, retention, and graduation. Other duties may include assisting with curriculum revision, growing partnerships in the field of public health, conducting independent and collaborative research, and serving on departmental committees. The newly created Department of Public Health (https://olemiss.edu/departments/applied-sciences/public-health) houses a BS in public health with concentrations in community health and health science, an MPH with emphases in community health and epidemiology (residential and online), and a joint program with UM’s School of Pharmacy to offer a PharmD/MPH.
