Position Summary: Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment per safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and process to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.
Responsibilities/Duties: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Minimum expectations include but are not limited to:
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to; mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems replace or repair parts, test and adjust accordingly.
- Perform a regular preventive maintenance and carpentry functions.
- Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment to proper supervision.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Perform all other duties as assigned of needed.
- Completes other duties and projects as assigned by the department manager, including; process improvements, cost savings, and efficiencies.
- Takes responsibility of work area to produce a safe and quality food product. Reports all food safety and quality related problems to your manager and to the QA department to initiate immediate action.
Supervisory Responsibility: No.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, Licenses, Certifications, Etc:
- Required education generally equivalent to a high school diploma or GED; AA degree or state approved apprentice program completion in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance is a plus; 1-3 or more years’ experience in strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC and HVAC experience; or and equivalent combination of school and experience.
- Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
- Requires the ability to communicate with others, the need to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Strong public speaking skills needed in this role to provide training across different audiences.
- Ability to print and speak simple sentences. Ability to read a limited number of two-and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one
