Financial Controller

The Senior Controller will oversee all accounting and financial reporting activities within the organization. This position is fully on-site and requires a strong background in accounting with prior public accounting experience. The ideal candidate will have an accounting degree and be adept at managing financial systems, ensuring compliance, and leading a team of accounting professional

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Reconcile the monthly bank and credit card statements
• Coordinate month-end and year-end closings
• Preparation and distribution of timely financial statements
• Supervise accounting employees, including workload and related duties

Required Skills

• Must have a minimum 6-8 years full-cycle accounting experience
• Prefer Candidates to have been in a Accounting Manager or prior Controller role
• Experienced with QuickBooks software is preferred.
• Must have an understanding of GAAP and tax rules
• Must have the ability to train and supervise accounting staff
• CPA is a Bonus
