About the role

Analyzes physical security incidents and escalation of physical security events. Evaluates and recommends changes to physical security and loss prevention tactics throughout the bank. Recommends and conducts physical security awareness training for employees.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  
Physical Security

  • Coordinates with the branches, divisions/departments on recommendations for general physical security administration, physical protection, personnel security, and investigations through policy recommendation, procedural reviews, and ongoing training.
  • Oversees the effective operation and maintenance of all the Bank's physical security equipment and devices and evaluates security equipment (protective devices, alarm systems, access control, etc.) for future implementation.
  • Coordinates the installation, maintenance, and operational use of all physical security devices in all facilities.
  • Selects and manages primary vendors of security equipment procurement, maintenance, and installation.
  • Designs and maintains reporting tools and training materials for routine testing of all intrusion alarm devices.
  • Selects and manages primary vendors of intrusion alarm monitoring.
  • Coordinates and assists with the controlling of facility access, guard and surveillance activities, alarm systems and safety.
  • Develops and implements physical security standards, policies and procedures.
  • Designs and maintains reporting tools for documenting incidents resulting in injury or damage to facilities.
  • Conducts random review of branch reports, including video, to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Investigates breaches of physical security and makes reports as necessary.
  • Coordinates bank robbery investigations with various law enforcement agencies.
  • Provides post-robbery support to affected branches.
  • Serves as law enforcement liaison for non-fraud related security issues.
  • Designs and conducts programs on physical security for all branch personnel, reviewing security considerations with all branches at least yearly.
  • Manages the delivery of physical security training and program overviews for all branch personnel, reviewing security considerations with all branches at least yearly.
  • Manages the review of branch cash limits as necessary for potential risk/exposures.
  • Coordinates and performs branch Physical Security Risk assessments.
  • Develops tools to assist branches in avoiding exceptions to security policies and procedures.
  • Designs and conducts training on security policies and procedures for branch staff.
  • Oversees semi-annual review of security access for employees.
  • Oversees management of physical keys for critical areas (branch entries, server rooms, etc.) including periodic inventory reviews and procedures for requesting key copies.
  • Assists with internal investigations related to employee fraud.
  • Provides content to the branch manual regarding physical security procedures.

Procedural Administration/Communication

  • Provides operational procedures and communication support in conjunction with the rollout of new physical security products.
  • Coordinates updates to policy and procedure manuals as appropriate including the Bank’s Physical Security Manual/policy.
  • Prepares annual Physical Security Board reports.
  • Ensures extensive testing of system enhancements occurs prior to placing in production environment; communicate changes and assist in the development and delivery of training. Provide on-site support of system conversions, when needed.
  • Integrates effective Internal Controls into all applicable work processes. Maintains a working knowledge of Internal Controls with particular attention to Key Controls. Is responsible for ensuring that updates to Internal Controls documentation are performed timely when there are changes in the risk parameters and/or work flow.
  • Oversees communication of security updates to branches and Retail Administration.
  • Performs compliance and risk management duties as required or assigned.
  • Regular, reliable attendance is required.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES:

  • Supervises assigned employees on a daily basis to ensure personnel are trained and/or cross-trained to meet department needs and competency requirements.
  • Acts as a resource for addressing and resolving employee conflict.
  • Provides on-going supervisory support and training to team members.
  • Develops ideas for recognition, rewards, staff motivation and retention.
  • Conducts interviews and makes recommendations for hiring.
  • Conducts department orientation and facilitates with new hire paperwork for assigned team members.
