Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday;
Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday.

The schedule will be 3 days one week and 4 days the next. On Mondays and Wednesdays, the staff member will support Dr. Link from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Summary

-The Medical Assistant, Non-Certified (MA) and Medical Assistant, Certified functions within the administration pre-defined scope of practice guidelines per state location of practice.

-The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will participate in the implementation and evaluation of patient care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.

Job Description

The MA in the ambulatory care setting collects subjective and objective health status data from the patient or caregiver and communicates this data to the health care provider. Participates in the care of patients by providing contributing data to licensed health care professionals; and following through on the patient's plan of care under the direction of the provider. Communicates the provider's written instructions for care to the patient, or caregiver, by transmission of specifically defined information. Will participate in care for patients, across the lifespan, in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, treatment, and follow-up as patients move in and out of care settings. Performs a variety of duties under the direct supervision of a person licensed to practice medicine. A sampling of the specialized clinical duties performed includes, but is not limited to, obtaining vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, observing and reporting patient's signs or symptoms, and performing point of care testing.

The LPN ensures the health, comfort and safety of patients. Documents a thorough medical history from patient. Contributes to the assessment of patients and administers medications or treatments as ordered. Provides technical support to healthcare professionals as needed. Counseling patients and family members, under the direction of a registered nurse, on prevention and treatment plans. The LPN demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in their assigned clinical setting.

Medical Assistant, Ambulatory (non-certified)

JOB QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required: One of the following:

  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant program

  • Documented successful completion of the following courses or (their recognized course equivalent):

    • Medical Terminology from an accredited institution or completed on line through Universal Class.

    • Anatomy & Physiology or Body Structure & Function or Human Body in Health & Disease from an accredited institution or completed on line through Universal Class.

    • Pharmacology from an accredited institution.

  • Two years of Medical Assistant-related work experience and completion of the required educational courses listed above within the first 12 months from hire.

Preferred/Optional: Experience in healthcare experience.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.

Minimum Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.

Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Must be a graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program.

Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Nationally certified or registered as a Medical Assistant (MA).

Certification (CMA) obtained through a nationally approved certification program
