Mechanical Engineering Intern:

Position Overview:

 

Novelis in Uhrichsville has an opportunity to participate in our on-site summer 2024 internship. The team is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern that can join the team for approximately 12 weeks. The person in this role will have the opportunity to participate in relevant work and gain hands on industry experience. The person in this role will report to the Central EMRA Leader and will gain experience with special projects from start to finish. The intern will also gain experience in Blueprint reading, CAD, Microsoft Office package, and safety walks.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

• Report out on projects to Mechanical Engineering Team
• Responsible for seeking out data and research to complete your project
• Investigate areas where improvements can be made
• Work with full time engineers to analyze and brainstorm potential cost saving projects

Minimum Qualifications:

• Enrolled in an accredited 4-year University.
• Must be a Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or recent Graduate.
• Interested in gaining hands-on industry experience prior to graduation.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills which are essential for interacting with all levels of the organization
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prefer students majoring in Mechanical Engineering
• Solid business insight
• High interest in becoming an engineering leader in a manufacturing environment
• Strong leadership and teamwork skills

Location Profile

Opened in 1985 the Uhrichsville facility produces flat rolled aluminum sheet. The rolling mill cold rolls aluminum sheet to a desired gauge anneals to temper levels and slits the rolled sheet to size. Employing more than 350 people the facility produces aluminum sheet for building and construction automotive distribution transportation and consumer durable applications.
