Description
The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is seeking to fill a Residential Supervisor II position. The Residential Supervisor II is responsible for supervising two residential homes located in Taunton, MA.
Duties and Responsibilities: (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive.)
- Supervision, training, evaluation, and scheduling of approximately 25 direct support staff.
- Implement consumer individual service plans (ISP).
- Provide direct support as needed to enhance the fulfillment of the consumer’s human rights, individual control, and community membership.
- Monitor residential and consumer funds.
- Oversee consumer health coordination with nursing supports.
- Ensure compliance with Federal, State and Department regulations, policies, and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the fundamental types and barriers of mental health and developmental/intellectual disabilities
- Knowledge of principles and practices of interviewing.
- Ability to supervise, including planning and assigning work according to the nature of the job, assessing the capabilities of subordinates and available resources; overseeing work through periodic evaluations; determining subordinates training needs and providing or arranging for such training; motivate subordinates to work effectively; determining the need for disciplinary action and either recommending or initiating disciplinary action.
- Ability to gather information through questioning and observing individuals and by examining recorded documents.
- Ability to understand, explain and apply the provisions of the laws, rules, regulations, policies, process specifications, standards and guidelines governing assigned residential activities.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with others.
- Ability to establish rapport with persons from different ethnic, cultural and/or economic backgrounds.
- Ability to interact with people who are under physical and/or emotional stress.
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with staff members, individuals served, and the representatives of organizations.
- Ability to handle stressful and emergency situations.
- Ability to work in group situations.
- Ability to work within a team setting.
- Ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information.
- Ability to advocate for the individuals.
- Ability to facilitate groups/meetings.
- Ability to accurately record information provided orally.
- Ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to manage a largely administrative task load.
- Ability to give oral and written instructions in precise, understandable manner.
- Ability to work with individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities and/or who exhibit emotional/behavioral challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Microsoft programs.
- Experience working with individuals have Intellectual Disabilities; Skills using communication styles and/or augmentative communication systems.
Special Requirements:
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
Please Note:
This position is located in the Department of Developmental Services in Taunton, MA.
Schedule:
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 7:30 AM -4:00 PM
Wednesday - 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM.
Days Off: Friday & Saturday
Flexibility with work schedule is required.
