Sr Director Service Line

The Cardiac Service Line Administrator plans, directs, and coordinates all functions and departments that relate to the cardiac service line (MHVI) at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital. This individual works across organizational lines and is tasked with growing new service line programs and market share. The MHVI Service Line Administrator is intimately involved with all of the aspects associated with physician collaboration and engagement. The MHVI Service Line Administrator is responsible for the cardiac service line committee meetings, annual planning and reporting, as well as integration of the cardiac service line strategy within the overall organizational strategy. The MHVI Service Line Administrator is accountable for the overall budget for the cardiac service line and development and implementation of plans to ensure that volume targets and costs are managed. The MHVI Service Line Administrator will provide direct support to the Cardiovascular Executive Medical Director and will report to the Vice President, Professional Services.

Job Function:

Responsible for assisting in achieving the goals of the Cardiovascular Co-Management Agreement and will execute the directives of the Cardiovascular Co-Management Committee. Provides leadership and is responsible for the Cardiac Cath Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, Non-Invasive Vascular Lab, Cardiopulmonary Rehab, CHF Clinic and Level 1 Heart Attack Program. Shared responsibilities (matrix) for Cardiovascular Surgery, CVH, CCU, SCU, CVR, Cardiac Nursing Units, Chest Pain Center, and all other programs and services related to the hospital's cardiac service line (MHVI). Leads the team through a continual process of analyzing the current state of the cardiac service line and developing and implementing the plan to close the gap between current state and desired state. Implements Hospital programs and policies in all areas to include quality patient care, maintenance of professional and medical standards of care, procurement of equipment and supplies, maintenance of sound financial structure including business plan and budget, recruitment and retention of physicians and other qualified personnel, and facility improvement including but not limited to ensuring that a responsive public relations, marketing and outreach program is maintained for MHVI; upholding and interpreting Hospital policies, philosophy and mission, maintaining sound physician relations practices, upholding the Hospital's customer service standards. Provides direction for the promotion of a continuing Performance Improvement (PI) program and works towards continuous advancement within CMS's Core Measures, Health Grades, HCAHPS and all other quality measurement programs. Maintains appropriate organization structure with clear lines of authority and accountability for MHVI; delegates various functions to appropriate individuals within the MHVI management team with appropriate monitoring of their activities for goal accomplishment; Administers personnel policies uniformly and fairly; supervises and evaluates performance of all employees with direct reporting relationships. Provides leadership development opportunities for department heads, managers and other employees within MHVI. Works in matrix management relationship with Patient Care Services administration, the Director of Surgery Services, the Director of Emergency Services (ED) and other members of the hospital's management as required to ensure integration and effective operations of the hospital's cardiac service line. Prepares MHVI operating budget and assures MHVI operations within budgetary guidelines; implements the control and effective utilization of the physical and financial resources the MHVI employing a system of responsible accounting, including budget and internal controls, in accordance with overall Hospital policies; assures employee compliance with established policies and procedures. Assists in the development of policies and procedures for departments within MHVI and reviews these as needed assuring compliance with the Mississippi State Department of Health, the Joint Commission, and other pertinent agencies and governing entities; maintains highest standards of appearance for personnel and facilities of the departments within MHVI. Ensures proper continuum of cardiac services is in place and implements necessary programmatic changes as needed to meet the needs of the community. Pursues a continuing program of formal and informal education in health care management areas to maintain, strengthen and broaden concepts, philosophy, and ability as a cardiac service line administrator; participates in, or is represented in community, state, and national hospital associations and professional activities which define the delivery and planning of cardiac services and aid in short- and long-range planning of MHVI programs and facilities. Works to continuously build and improve upon the hospital's cardiac product lin
