Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative leader to serve as Director of Delivery Chemistry, spearheading the development of targeted drug conjugates. This role will focus on the design, synthesis, and characterization ofprotein-drug conjugates, leveraging Evercrisp’s novel drug delivery platform or rare genetic diseases to advance therapeutic programs from discovery to IND-enabling studies. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and brings both technical expertise alongside strong leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead therapeutic programs from early discovery through IND-enabling studies, ensuring high-quality outcomes and strategic alignment with company goals.
- Design, synthesize and optimize innovative solutions for formulation and delivery challenges associated with complex macromolecular therapeutic modalities.
- Manage and mentor a high-performing team of scientists responsible for the synthesis and characterization of protein, polymer, oligonucleotide, and small molecule conjugates.
- Oversee data analysis, data interpretation, and decision-making to drive project success.
- Provide technical leadership to staff performing complex scientific challenges across drug discovery pipelines.
- Maintain detailed records in ELNs to ensure data integrity and accessibility for team collaboration
- Contribute to intellectual property development, including patents and high impact scientific publications.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Protein Sciences, Cell Biology and In Vivo Biology to troubleshoot technical challenges and drive innovation.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field with 6+ years of industry experience.
- Deep expertise in bioconjugation chemistry and the design of protein-drug conjugates.
- Proven experience leading functional teams in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving industry (2-5 direct reports).
- Hands-on experience with analytical techniques for protein-drug conjugates.
- Demonstrated leadership in drug discovery and development, including successful of IND filings.
- Prior experience in the development of therapeutic oligo delivery systems.
