Minimum Salary Range: $82,500 (Dependent upon experience)

Qualifications & Competencies:

• Evidence of strong leadership and consistent success in school-site and/or district/network administrative roles

• Evidence of strong teacher leadership success in school-site and/or district/network at leading adults in teams, departments, committees, or formal group structures as defined by the district/network

• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with attention to detail

• Demonstrated success teaching or leading in at-risk communities

• Track record of coaching teachers, conducting classroom observations, providing feedback, and driving instructional improvement

• Proficiency in analyzing student achievement data and guiding staff in using data to drive instructional practices

• Strong computer skills, including Excel and other data tools

• Commitment to preparing at-risk students to succeed in college and beyond

• Bachelor’s degree or higher required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual in Spanish with the ability to engage diverse student populations

• Experience supporting English Language Learners (ELL) and implementing strategies for language acquisition and academic success

• Knowledge of foundational literacy, including the science of reading and evidence-based instructional practices

• Proficiency in standards-based instruction and K-8 curriculum alignment

• Familiarity with Arizona’s Move On When Reading (MOWR) requirements

• Experience integrating STEM-focused programming while maintaining strong foundational teaching in core subjects

• Knowledge of and experience with key instructional programs, including Into Math, SAVVAS myViews & myPerspectives, and Amplify Science

• Possesses Arizona Standard Professional Principal Certificate or ability to earn one  

Internal Applicant Requirements:

To be considered, internal applicants must meet the following criteria:

• At least three years of uninterrupted employment with AMS

• A minimum of two years of experience as an Assistant Principal or Director Role 

• Most recent/end-of-year PLP ratings must be “Effective” in all areas
