HEAVY MACHINERY-FOOD PACKAGING MACHINE

Winpak Lane Inc. is seeking dynamic and results driven Field Service Technician to join our Team based out of Rialto CA. The primary objective of the Field Service Technician is to provide field technical, maintenance, and troubleshooting support to Winpak customers. Also, to  successfully install and start up Winpak Packaging Machines. As a Winpak technical ambassador, the incumbent must have proficient skills to effectively train and counsel; operators, production, maintenance, and management personnel with all applicable duties related to servicing and supporting Winpak equipment. 

Key Responsibilities:

Installation, startup and repair of Winpak Machinery 

• Works independently in a field driven capacity to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
• Maintain a highly professional image representing the Field Service Technicians and the Winpak Corporation image.
• Verifies safe operation of Winpak machinery and any equipment operating in conjunction with Winpak machinery before startup and operation.
• Train customers in the proper operation and maintenance of Winpak machinery.
• Works alongside the Engineering Department and Assembly Departments assisting with QC /FAT testing of new equipment and verifying proper functionality of the equipment.
• Administer and complete documentation package related to FAT program.
• Set up the lab equipment for testing new products to verify compatibility with our filling system.
• Provides emergency field service assistance as needed.
• Responsible for furnishing all basic tools to fulfil the requirements of the position.

Required Qualifications:

• Education:

• • Associate’s degree in machine controls automation or 2 years of vocational technical training. Bachelor’s degree in electro-mechanical, technical engineering, or automation machine maintenance preferred.
• Experience:
  • Position requires a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in field service focusing on mechanical, electronics, electrical, pneumatics, servo, and PLC control acumen.

Preferred Qualifications:

• • Technical writing background a plus.
  • Experience in the flexible packaging machinery industry highly preferred.

• Skills & Abilities:

• • Advanced writing skills.
  • Advanced ability to identify the root cause of a problem and make repairs through required adjustments or replacing defective parts as necessary.
  • Proficient in the following software programs: Outlook, SharePoint, Avante, Smartsheet, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Highly skilled in reading blueprints, engineering drawings and electrical schematics in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Skilled in servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and machinery.
  • Excellent customer service skills portraying , a positive “can do” attitude.

• Additional Requirements:
  • Seek continuous improvements and initiate corrective actions where applicable.
  • Completes technical service reports for all service trips and expense reports in a timely manner.
  • Make decisions where only general procedures are available and exercises judgement and discretion in the absence of clear-cut procedures.
  • Assists in training of technicians, manufacturing assembly personnel, customers and in-house personnel as required.

Compensation range:  

HOURLY RANGE is $31.00 TO $36.00 BASED ON EXPERIENCE. The compensation range provided is a general guideline only. Pay will be determined based on the candidate's experience and expertise and is subject to vary.
