Associate Industrial Engineer

Position Overview

Shaw Industries is looking for an Associate Industrial Engineer to execute strategic plans to ensure the manufacturing plants are profitable. This position is located and based in Cartersville, GA.

Based on experience, this position can be filled as a I or II.

Responsibilities: 

• Drive results with the assigned plant’s processes through continuous improvement of efficiency, waste and cost
• Create and utilize departmental reports to identify opportunities and implement action plans for improvement
• Analyze cost variances and create and implement plans for cost improvements
• Manage the plants’ waste streams and recycling initiatives
• Assist with developing the annual plant budgets
• Identify spec change needs and submit spec change requests
• Update the guidelines costing system as needed
• Provide savings and ROI calculations for capital project proposals
• Manage the assigned plant’s fixed asset inventory
• Manage support staff as assigned
• Influence others within the plants, Corporate departments and upper management to facilitate necessary change while meeting customer needs.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree required. Industrial Engineering degree preferred.
• Candidates with other relevant education (Accounting, Finance, etc) and/or experience will be considered.
• Strong project management and communication skills (written and oral)
• Six Sigma Black Belt trained or willingness to complete training
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Previous experience in a Financial Systems, Industrial Engineering or Process Improvement role preferred.
• Previous manufacturing experience (preferred)
