The Senior Allocation Analyst is responsible for overseeing the allocation process and making sure the product team they support is providing thoughtful store analysis that places the right product in the right stores at the right time. This role is instrumental in driving sales and margin for the company through management and optimization of inventory. The Senior Allocation Analyst is a highly collaborative role that works closely with a variety of cross-functional teams, such as Buying, Planning, Visual Merchandising and Supply Chain. We are looking for an allocation expert with at least 1-2 years of experience in a relevant allocation system. This individual should effectively exhibit JD Finish Line’s core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community, and Financial Responsibility in everything they do while performing the following main duties:
Allocates a specific product category, while maintaining alignment to the Buyer’s assortment and range plans.
Writes new purchase orders, giving size breaks and recommending quantities to Buyers.
Able to perform day-to-day allocation tasks, as well as ensuring best practices are being followed in the allocation system.
Assists in training of new Allocation Analysts and helps with day-to-day problem solving and trouble shooting in the allocation system.
Partners with Divisional Allocation Manager to develop strategies to optimize inventory levels while mitigating out of stocks.
Participates in weekly cross-functional meetings.
Assists the Divisional Allocation Manager with training and development of Allocation Analysts on ad-hoc report creation, along with analysis to clearly communicate opportunity and risk at the store-style/color level.
Assists the Divisional Allocation Manager with training and development of Allocation Analysts to manage location reporting and analysis of store productivity by category on a regular basis, identifying opportunities/liabilities, to ensure execution of company sales and inventory objectives.
Contributes ideas on ways to optimize or improve the team, the department and the Company.
Builds constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of business partners.
Communicates professionally with all internal and external contacts.
Additional duties and projects as required.
Required Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university; additional 1-3 years of previous merchandising/allocation experience required; candidates with JD Finish Line experience strongly preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Computer and/or Technical Skills
Must have at least intermediate knowledge and abilities with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Google Suite.
