Get to Know the Opportunity
The ideal SRD (Senior Regional Director) candidate will be a successful, and highly motivated professional with an established track record of raising assets within the Intermediary DCIO space for the Midwest Region of the United States. Responsible for building new relationships and managing existing relationships for Voya Investment Management's retirement third party platform business. The candidate must be willing to collaborate with other Voya salespeople to generate sales including our retail and retirement channel. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in selling and supporting both retirement savings products, 529 plans and investment management strategies. It will be imperative that this individual have knowledge and existing relationships including, but not limited to, broker-dealers, RIAs, RIA aggregators, consultants and recordkeepers throughout the territory, with a heavy emphasis on the Midwest – including MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, MI, OH. This role maintains current DCIO industry knowledge and experience in the retirement plan business, expert knowledge on 529 plans, along with best practices and established sales tools, to meet DCIO & 529 sales goals.
The Contributions You Will Make
- Strategically plan and manage resources to maximize territory sales using industry and firm data, territory zones and prioritizing prospects and clients.
- Responsible for budgeting expenses efficiently.
- Work in conjunction with Regional Coordinator to drives sales through geographically distinct or select segmented advisors to identify and foster leads generation.
- Develop new producing relationships and lead the servicing of existing clients – focusing on top 150 intermediaries in the territory.
- Strategically plan and manage resources to maximize territory sales using industry and firm data, territory zones and prioritizing clients.
- Develop and manage a strong and active pipeline.
- Partner with other lines of business within Voya, such as PWA and AC channels to drive synergies and enhance firm enterprise value.
- Travel required: overnight travel required.
- Voya CRM usage required.
- Provides regular DCIO and 529 sales pipeline updates and activity to the management team.
- Minimum of eighteen field appointments per week conducting one on one meetings, presentations, seminars, workshops, and branch meetings – with targeted advisors.
- Development of a territory business plan –establishing baseline and evaluation matrix.
- Work with affiliated sales partners including gatekeepers and due diligence teams to identify cross-selling opportunities, referrals, and recommended fund lists.
- Territory is including MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, MI, OH.
Minimum Knowledge and Experience
- 7+ years sales experience as a DCIO salesperson.
- 529 sales and industry experience.
- Strong existing relationships and knowledge in the assigned territory (especially West Coast, where candidate must reside).
- Series 7, 66 licenses required.
- Demonstrable organization skills.
- A creative business mind and experience managing a territory effectively.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Deep knowledge of the investment marketplace, 529 and retirement savings vehicles.
- Experience and ability to work as a Specialist – supporting generalist channel salespeople.
