Position Summary
We are seeking a Product Production Control Expeditor with 3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing environments to join our team. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual who can efficiently manage the production workflow, prioritize orders, track material movement, and ensure production targets are met. The ideal candidate will possess strong MRP system knowledge, advanced Excel spreadsheet skills, and the ability to work independently with high initiative. This role requires the ability to stay on your feet and remain highly engaged in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Manage Production Workflow: Expedite the movement of parts and materials between departments to ensure smooth and timely production processes.
- Master Scheduling: Collaborate with the production planning team to develop and manage the master production schedule (MPS), adjusting plans as needed to meet deadlines.
- Prioritize Work Orders: Evaluate production schedules and prioritize work orders based on urgency, customer needs, and available resources.
- Monitor Material Availability: Use MRP systems to track and address material shortages, identifying critical components and coordinating with purchasing to expedite delivery.
- Status Reporting: Provide consistent and accurate production status updates, identifying potential delays and reporting on progress to management and other teams.
- Problem-Solving: Actively identify production bottlenecks or shortages and implement solutions to prevent delays or downtime.
- Coordination Between Departments: Work with various departments (purchasing, inventory, production) to ensure efficient flow of materials and parts.
- Data Entry & Record Keeping: Update production and inventory systems regularly, ensuring all data is accurate and up-to-date.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all processes are compliant with company quality standards and safety regulations.
- Independence & Initiative: Work autonomously, taking initiative to solve problems, optimize workflows, and keep production moving without constant supervision.
Position Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in production control, manufacturing operations, or a similar role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- MRP System Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems for production
