Job Summary

Alluvionic is currently seeking a Federal Budget Analyst II with excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic. This role will assist the United States Marshals Service - Financial Services Division. The Federal Budget Analyst II will support management and other staff members in all financial activities and operations as assigned. This position will liaise with Federal Employees, Contractors, and Divisions throughout the U.S. Marshals Service.

Must be a US Citizen to be considered for this position.

Must be able to pass a Background Investigation (BI) for a clearance of Public Trust.

Salary Range: $65-74k yearly

Responsibilities and Duties:

The Federal Budget Analyst II performs, but is not limited to, the following duties:

  • Process financial documents and transactions using the Unified Financial Management System (UFMS).
  • Review accounting practices to ensure compliance with other Federal laws and regulations (e.g., Single Audit Act), generally accepted Government accounting practices, and relevant Office Management and Budget circulars.
  • Identify corrective actions for improper or illegal expenditures and accounting funds.
  • Review and analyze annual financial statements to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, program policies, and procedures.
  • Involvement in budget execution during a fiscal year budget cycle.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and word processing software and general knowledge of financial statements.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or finance
  • Three years of experience reviewing and analyzing annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, program policies, and procedures
  • Three years of experience in analyzing information and making recommendations
  • Three years of experience in budget execution during a fiscal year budget cycle
  • Three years of experience in preparing and presenting a status of funds for higher-level management
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with superior Excel skills (V-look up, Pivot Tables, etc.)
  • Previous Federal Government Support
