Bixby is an intelligent personal assistant, which is available as a built-in application on Samsung flagship devices and wearables. This application uses Natural Language Understanding to perform tasks on these devices using voice/ text, including but not limited to making phone calls, sending text messages, setting up meetings, opening apps, setting alarms and timers, getting directions, answering general questions, providing information about restaurants and other businesses, etc.

Samsung Bixby team is looking for highly skilled individuals for a role to work on service intelligence. This is a great opportunity to join Samsung’s Bixby Team to build next generation of AI services and influence the evolution of smart assistant solutions across our flagship devices.

Position responsibilities:

• You will develop predictive models on large-scale datasets to address various business problems leveraging advanced statistical modeling, machine learning, or data mining techniques. Participate in new product concepts and create proof-of-concept prototypes
• Design, implement and evolve existing on-device service intelligence solutions using Android frameworks
• Design and implement infrastructure for orchestrating end to end machine learning lifecycles
• Set up processes to monitor and continually improve efficiency and performance of models
• Software development including algorithm implementation, optimization, performance profiling, integration to production systems, testing and documentation
• Write high-quality production code as you build and maintain robust, scalable machine learning systems
• Program primarily in Python and / or Java using efficient algorithms and software design patterns
• Function as an integral part of a larger team and collaborate and communicate effectively

Experience Required:

• BS/MS/PhD Computer Science or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Knowledge around Android Engineering, NLP, ML, AI will be a plus
• 12+ years of experience with building end-to-end systems on Android devices for building on-device learning frameworks and solutions based on machine learning or deep learning methods (ETL, modeling and deployment)
• Experience with object-oriented design and development and proficiency in Java and Python programming languages
• Experience with deep learning architectures such as LSTMs, Transformers, Tree-LSTMs, Graph Neural Networks, etc.
• Experience with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, JAX and libraries like Hugging Face transformers, Deep Graph Library, DGL-KE, etc. with specific requirements for Android devices
• Experience with CI / CD platforms like Jenkins, Github actions and Circle CI
• Knowledge about deployment processes and writing bash scripts
• Hands on experience with Web applications/services development in a professional environment
• Strong knowledge of design patterns and scalable architecture
• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals such as algorithms, data structures and run-time analysis
• Ability to create self-contained, reusable, and testable modules and components
• Experience working in a complex large codebase and or in an open-source project is a strong plus
• Extensive experience with software prototyping or designing experimental software
• Analytical and problem-solving skills for design, creation, and testing of custom software

The base pay range for roles at this level is listed below, but may be higher or lower in other states due to geographic differentials in the labor market. Within the base pay range, individual rates depend on a number of factors—including the role’s function and location as well as the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, education and training. This is part of our comprehensive compensation package with annual bonus eligibility and generous benefits to help you live life well.Base Pay Range$177,700—$266,450 USD
