Job Summary
Under general direction for the Office of Admission, provides copywriting for the website, print and electronic publications and social media; supports all communication materials by proofreading; monitors and manages social media channels; conducts in-depth market research to support marketing and enrollment communication plans, as well as best practices in the field of higher education; helps to maintain and uphold University brand standards.
Job Duties
Working closely with the communication team, responsible for copywriting and proofreading of various forms of media targeted toward prospective SLU undergraduate and graduate students including their parents.
Manages social media channels and content for the Office of Admission, which includes collaborating with professional and student staff to develop new content when necessary, managing changes both anticipated and spontaneous, monitoring shifting social media needs, monitoring and responding to engagement and periodically auditing existing content; additionally, manages web-based social media manager platform.
Builds, filters and schedules electronic mail and call campaigns to prospective students using SLU’s customer-relationship management system (SLATE).
Develops call campaign scripts for our tele counseling program.
Collaborates with various units within the Office of Admission, the Division of Enrollment Management, and other areas of the University to create written copy for projects to support greater University- and Division-wide goals.
Collaborates to assist with the development of a comprehensive and integrated admission marketing plan for the University, including development of themes, identification of target audiences, and corresponding media selection; conducts research into trends and best practices in higher education marketing and communication.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
Interpersonal/human relations skills.
Knowledge and understanding of the AP Stylebook.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience writing content for a teenage audience is preferred.
Knowledge of content management systems and email marketing applications.
Knowledge of social media trends, branding and marketing strategies.
Organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure and meet deadlines.
Resourceful, creative and self-motivated.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree; supplemented with three (3) years of relevant work experience.
