What You Will Do:

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II,  Production Support - 2nd Shift to work out of our North Berwick, Maine campus. The Manufacturing Engineer II,  Production Support - 2nd Shift will act as a manufacturing engineering resource for all business units. This individual will be the point of contact for all manufacturing engineering tasks stopping production and critical to bring to an immediate solution.

• Attend the site wide tier meeting to see support required from the manufacturing engineering team during 2nd shift.

• Use statistical analysis tools to perform root cause analysis and corrective actions on non-conforming products.

• Collaborate with the inspection team when questions arise regarding manufacturing work instruction & blueprint requirements.

• Responsible for manufacturing risk identification and mitigation to achieve superior quality performance; identify & implement process optimization & control methods to eliminate/prevent quality turn backs /escapes and reduce overall product costs.

• Interact with the tool room and calibration when guidance is needed on critical production fixtures and gages.

• Effectively communicate issues that occurred during 2nd shift to each respective business unit engineering team.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field and 2 or more years' experience in a manufacturing operations or similar industrial environment; OR a Master's degree and 1 or more years experience in a manufacturing operations or similar industrial environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification

• CORE/Six Sigma Practitioner/professional certification

• Understanding of continuous improvement concepts: DFSS, Red-X, Lean, etc.

• Demonstrated technical proficiency in complex manufacturing activities

• Able to use Minitab and other statistical software

• Proficiency in statistics, data analytics, DOE, and multivariate statistics

• Effective verbal & written communication
