Salary Range: The full pay range for this role is $22.16 to $46.82 per hour. The target range for this position is $27.00 to $34.00 per hour. We generally base our salary decisions on factors such as internal equity, candidate work and/leadership experience, educational credentials, and in some cases, candidate work location.
Scope of Job: This position, under specific direction from the site manager, is focused on championing a culture of safety. The role is expected to support the site manager with ensuring the safety of the site(s) and to ensure compliance with established safety guidelines. In addition to ensuring safety protocols are performed by site personnel, the Technician 3 – Safety Lead will perform unsupervised field maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on one or more types of renewable energy generators.
The job's scope includes full system installation, commissioning, maintenance, system performance evaluation, and troubleshooting of power and energy systems. The Technician 3 will lead teams on major tasks, showing strong leadership skills and a commitment to safety.
Overall, this role requires a strong emphasis on safety, with Technician 3 expected to prioritize and enforce safety guidelines, while also possessing the technical skills necessary to effectively maintain and troubleshoot renewable energy systems.
Required Training: Each Renewable Energy Technician will attend mandatory five (5) week training and certification course at the start of their employment. The exact duration will be determined based on experience and qualifications. The training is in Albert Lea, MN, and travel, accommodation, and expenses will be provided.
Responsibilities
Safety Lead Responsibilities:
- Conduct annual duties such as updating the facility’s EPRP, conduct pertinent emergency drills, facilitate QC & HSES audits, and coordinate all pertinent annual safety training for facility personnel.
- Lead monthly facility inspections, inventory and restocking of first aid kits, facilitate PPE inspections, inspect and log the facility AED, and participate in Safety Specialist training calls.
- Conduct daily, or as needed, duties such as ensure forklift inspection are completed, ensure company owned vehicle daily inspections are completed, update the facility’s SDS, conduct morning stretches, update EPRP as needed, conduct safety discussions during the morning PODs.
- Conduct weekly duties such as inspecting the hazardous products area, inventory safety equipment/PPE and restock as necessary, ensure all company owned vehicle inspections are completed and properly filed.
