What does the PCT role entail?

  • Deliver safe, hygienic, and compassionate dialysis care
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after treatment
  • Set up and maintain dialysis equipment
  • Record vital signs and patient data
  • Educate patients on treatment and kidney health
  • Collaborate with nurses, dietitians, social workers, and other care team members
  • Rotating Schedule of 3 to 4 day work weeks, including rotating Saturday’s with Sunday off
  • Must be flexible to work early morning and late evening hours, starting and ending times can range from 4:30 am to 8:30 pm or later.
  • Average hours range from 10 to 14+ hours a day

What does a successful PCT look like?

  • High School Diploma (HSD) or GED *Please Note this is a State Requirement to obtain a Hemodialysis Certification
  • Comfortable working around blood and needles, mixing acid or bicarb
  • Desire to enter the healthcare field to care for other people in need
  • Flexibility and availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Ability to work in a fast paced setting as part of a team while managing multiple responsibilities at a time
  • Healthcare experience a plus including: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.
