Job Summary
The Human Resources Information System (HRIS) Core HCM and Security Product Owner is primarily responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of the HRIS Core HCM and Security systems. This role ensures that the HRIS meets the city's needs in terms of functionality, security, and compliance.
Job Description
Essential Functions
System Development and Maintenance:
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements for HRIS Core HCM and Security system enhancements and updates.
Work with IT teams and vendors to develop, test, and implement system changes.
Ensure ongoing maintenance and support of the HRIS Core HCM and Security systems.
Security Compliance:
Establish and maintain security protocols and procedures to protect sensitive HR data.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and other data protection laws.
User Training and Support:
Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for HRIS users.
Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting assistance to users.
Data Integrity and Reporting:
Monitor data integrity within the HRIS Core HCM and Security systems.
Generate regular and ad-hoc reports to support HR and organizational decision-making.
System Integration:
Coordinate with other departments to integrate the HRIS Core HCM and Security systems with other organizational systems (e.g., payroll, benefits).
Stakeholder Communication:
Act as the primary point of contact for HRIS Core HCM and Security system-related inquiries.
Communicate system updates, changes, and issues to stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements.
Implement best practices for HRIS Core HCM and Security system management.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Proficiency in HRIS Core HCM and Security systems (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors).
Understanding of HR processes and best practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
EDUCATION:
Associate degree in any field.
EXPERIENCE:
Seven (7) years of experience configuring Workday modules; HCM Core/Security configuration required.
EQUIVALENCY:
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in any field plus (5) years of the required experience will qualify.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Familiarity with security best practices and compliance standards.
