Job Description Summary

Working with assigned teams, the Assistant Athletic Trainer will be responsible for the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of student-athlete injuries and related illness. This position will receive general supervision and report to the Head Athletic Trainer.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide healthcare for student-athlete teams as assigned
• Perform treatments to prepare student-athletes for practice and competition
• Organize and maintain daily medical records, including daily treatment logs using an Electronic Medical Record system
• Evaluate injuries in order to design and execute appropriate rehabilitation exercises.
• Communicate with coaching staffs, athletes, physicians, co-workers, parents, and consultants regarding the athlete’s healthcare
• Make necessary medical referrals
• Rehabilitation of student-athletes after surgery
• Plan and administer emergency care as needed
• Ensure that University, NCAA, federal and state policies, procedures, and/or regulations are followed
• Instruct and evaluate athletic training students, supervise part-time staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor 's Degree and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• A Master’s degree preferred
• BOC certification in Athletic Training and 2-3 years’ experience, preferably working with student-athletes, is required.
• Must be licensed in the state of Pennsylvania.
• Strong manual therapy skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and willingness to work nights/weekends/holidays and travel as required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
