General Summary:
The Front-End engineer II is responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining high quality, innovative, and fully performing front-end code for web applications. This role works cross-functionally to ensure the alignment of web design and user experience while optimizing web pages for maximum efficiency, in compliance with coding standards
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the UI/UX design for our flagship remote control product, setting new standards for what software should feel like
- Apply a keen artistic eye to every design decision, ensuring our UIs are not just functional but visually compelling
- Collaborate closely with product managers and developers to translate complex technical concepts into intuitive, user-friendly interfaces
- Dive into the backend to understand how it fuels the frontend, ensuring a seamless and cohesive user experience
- Experiment boldly with new ideas and technologies to push the boundaries of what's possible in a remote control application
- Tackle the intricacies of frontend state management to create consistent, responsive, and maintainable interfaces
- Continuously iterate on designs based on user feedback, analytics, and your own creative insights
Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required:
- A proven track record of designing and developing user interfaces that delight users and stand up to the rigors of a high-demand, real-time environment
- A portfolio that showcases exceptional talent in UI design, highlighting your ability to simplify and beautify complex user interactions
- A broad technical background with a willingness to engage in spirited discussions about the merits of different technologies and design approaches
- A strong sense of aesthetics and a deep understanding of what makes a user interface intuitive and engaging
- Proficiency in modern design software and a grasp of frontend technologies that influence design implementation
- The ability to articulate design choices and advocate for the user experience with passion and persuasive clarity
- A commitment to continuous learning and improvement, with a penchant for staying ahead of the curve on emerging design trends and technologies
Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience Recommendations:
- 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design and development
- Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Experience with Git
- Experience with C#/.NET (WinForms) and Java (Swing) is a plus
Working Conditions:
- Onsite/Hybrid/Remote depending on location
- 0-10% travel may be required
