JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

We are looking for a Sr. Staff Accountant to join our Accounting Department. The Sr. Staff Accountant's responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with month-end close processes, and assisting with accounting related transactions. You will also assist other members of the Accounting Department as needed and work closely with the team to ensure financial goals and objectives are achieved. A successful Sr. Staff Accountant will have excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

Sr. Staff Accountant Responsibilities:

• Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.

• Prepare journal entries, analyses, account reconciliations and assist with monthly close processes.

• Review general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries and adjusting journal entries.

• Perform cost analysis and review expenses to ensure accuracy and efficiency. 

• Assist Project Accountants and Project Managers to ensure project accounting is set-up accurately and is up-to-date.

• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

• Meet processing and reporting deadlines.

• Assist with investigating variances to budget and prior year.

• Provide support for Accounting staff as needed.

• Assist with Ad-hoc reporting and special projects.

Sr. Staff Accountant Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

• 2+ years of Accounting-related experience.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Working knowledge of Accounting and GAAP.

• Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
