POSITION SUMMARY:
The Customer Service Representative is responsible for providing information, processing referrals, and coordinating delivery of medical equipment to be used in the home. They are responsible for acceptance of referrals and collection of patient demographic and insurance information, including obtaining authorizations. They schedule all clinical visits to the patient and gather all appropriate documentation. Serves as a liaison between the patient, physician, insurance company and other health care providers. The Customer Service Representative must maintain strict confidentiality in all matters pertaining to patients of Enloe Health.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Minimum:
One year experience utilizing clerical, computer, and receptionist skills
Desired:
Medical terminology
Previous home medical equipment billing experience or related experience desirable
ICD-10 Coding
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
Must have excellent telephone communication skills and interpersonal skills to maintain a high degree of rapport with patients, co-workers, physicians and the public. Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to work under, but not require constant and direct supervision. Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Capable of using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook (Microsoft Office Suite) for a variety of support functions. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential. Must show sensitivity for the patient and family and maintain strict confidentiality. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
