About the role

The Senior Manager, Ad-Supported Programming will develop, execute and manage streaming content strategies for Crunchyroll’s ad-supported streaming businesses - both On Demand and Linear - to encourage content sampling and discovery, with the ultimate objective of increasing subscriber acquisition. In addition to strategy and execution, you will work with multiple teams including Content Operations, Brand, Ad Ops, Creative, Social Media, Business Development/Partnerships and PR.

As the Senior Manager, Ad-Supported Programming, you will report to the Sr. Director, Programming.

We are considering applicants in both our Culver City and Dallas offices.

About You

• 7-10 years experience in media, with 5+ years of streaming content or related media programming experience

• Experience managing content in a consumer-facing entertainment, media, gaming, or sports business

• An understanding of content programming principles and communication tactics including multiple forms of digital/social, out of home, grassroots, TV/radio, and alternative marketing

• Experience with metrics and how they are used to track performance of content promotions, identify meaningful success KPIs, report “post-mortems”, and iterate to optimize.

• Solid knowledge of the entertainment landscape and streaming platforms 

A day in the life of our Senior Manager, Ad-Supported Programming

• Partner with the Sr Director in the creation and execution of the Ad-supported Video On Demand content strategy.

• Ensure that AVOD content is published and available in all licensed territories.

• Collaborate with the Curations team to merchandise content on web and apps to maximize AVOD content discovery, sampling and consumption.

• Manage Featured AVOD (and where applicable, FVOD) Content on all platforms.

• Plan and execute AVOD programming “stunts” and collections

• Coordinate all featured content efforts with Content Curation, Marketing and other company partners to maximize impact.

• Work with development team to prioritize, develop and launch VOD enhancements.

• Support international teams with content launches, and effectively communicate those launches globally.

• Track and report AVOD content performance

• Develop plans for measuring success of the AVOD strategy and make recommendations for revisions as indicated by performance data.
