Assistant Director

The Assistant Director will report to and work closely with the Director of Center for Academic Success and Achievement (CASA) in overseeing student success initiatives and day-to-day operations of the Center. This role includes supervising professional and peer tutors, managing budgets and operational policies, and collaborating with faculty and administrators. May perform designated duties of immediate supervisor during periods of absence.

• Supervise all professional tutors, peer tutors, and student employees  

• Direct and promote academic success initiatives across all schools

• Recruit, interview, and train professional tutors, peer tutors, and student employees

• Manage and help forecast the CASA budget and operational policies

• Expand student utilization of CASA services and facilities through targeted outreach

• Collaborate with deans, department chairs, and program coordinators in the development of new academic support programs

• Coordinate with peer tutors, professional tutors, and CASA staff to ensure accurate data capture within the tracking systems

• Develop and monitor peer tutor, professional tutor, and student worker schedules to align with student demand for services

• Maintain effective relationships with faculty, administration, and staff to solicit input and feedback related to maintaining consistency in serving students

• Present and facilitate workshops to students in all schools

• Evaluate and elevate CASA academic service offerings: workshops, skills sessions, tutoring, voucher distribution, etc.

• Research, share, and adopt best practices for academic support for students

• Collect and maintain data for program analysis and review

• Perform other related duties as assigned.
