Sandwich Associate

As a Sandwich Associate at La Madeleine French Bakery & Café, you play a vital role in delivering an exceptional guest experience. You’ll be responsible for crafting delicious, high-quality sandwiches with care and precision — all while providing warm, friendly service in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Sandwich Preparation

• Assemble sandwiches accurately and efficiently, following La Madeleine’s signature recipes and presentation standards

• Use fresh, high-quality ingredients with proper portioning and attention to customization

• Grill, toast, or warm bread to order for optimal taste and texture

• Ensure all ingredients meet freshness and safety guidelines

Guest Interaction & Service

• Greet guests warmly and professionally, creating a welcoming atmosphere

• Take and confirm sandwich orders clearly and accurately

• Communicate menu options and answer basic questions about ingredients or customization

• Present completed items with a smile and ensure guest satisfaction

Food Safety & Cleanliness

• Follow all food handling and sanitation procedures as required by company and health code standards

• Maintain a clean and organized sandwich station throughout the shift

• Properly store and label all food items using FIFO rotation and temperature checks

• Assist with restocking sandwich prep stations and replenishing ingredients and other duties assigned. 

• Support team members during peak hours by helping with side dishes, salads, or beverage prep as needed

• Participate in opening and closing tasks, including station setup, cleaning, and prep for the next shift

• Follow all manager or shift lead instructions and contribute to a positive team culture

Qualifications:

• Strong customer service skills and a friendly, team-oriented attitude

• Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices (training available)

• Ability to follow recipes and portion guidelines with precision

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen or café setting. Working with hot and cold items.

• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays as needed

• Prior food service or kitchen experience is a plus, but not required

 

This position operates in a restaurant environment. La Madeleine staff are frequently exposed to hot equipment, cleaning chemicals, and moderate noise levels. The role requires regular standing, bending, lifting, and reaching.
