Department: Procurement
Reporting Line: Branch Manager – eventually to Procurement Operations Manager (under Director of Procurement)
Location: Branch-based (Buffalo)
Job Purpose
Serve as the primary procurement lead for the assigned branch, driving transactional buying, inventory management, and customer success. Act as a strategic business partner to the Branch Manager,
Sales Manager, and Warehouse Operations, ensuring procurement activities support local business outcomes while aligning with enterprise-wide procurement strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute daily purchasing activities for assigned branch, including into-stock and direct buys
- Manage local inventory levels to meet customer demand and minimize excess or obsolete stock
- Collaborate with Branch Manager and Sales Manager to forecast demand and align procurement with customer needs
- Resolve branch-level procurement issues, including supplier delays, shortages, and urgent requests
- Coordinate with warehouse operations to ensure timely delivery and inventory accuracy
- Support supplier performance tracking and feedback in collaboration with Category Managers
- Participate in cross-regional procurement initiatives and share best practices
- Maintain accurate procurement documentation and ensure compliance with procurement policies
- Monitor and report on PO cycle times, cost variances, and inventory KPIs
Required Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in procurement, inventory management, or operations
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., M3/Sage) and procurement tools
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced branch environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in chemicals, industrial commodities, or distribution
- Knowledge of customer service principles and warehouse operations
- Certifications such as APICS CPIM, CSCP, or Six Sigma

- Branch satisfaction with procurement support
- Inventory accuracy and turnover
- PO cycle time and responsiveness
- Cost savings and avoidance at the branch level
- Issue resolution rate and timeliness
Decision Rights
- Place and manage purchase orders within assigned budget
- Resolve branch-level procurement and inventory issues
- Recommend local supplier adjustments or escalations to Category Managers

Work Environment
Branch-based role with daily interaction across sales, operations, and procurement. Occasional travel to supplier sites or other branches for collaboration. Fast-paced, customer-facing, and
operationally integrated setting.

Salary: Dependent on experience; $70,000 - $82,000
