Maintenance Mechanic- JLL

What this job involves:

The Maintenance Mechanic will provide essential support to the Site Facility Manager with operational activities including maintenance and operations, finance, vendor oversight, equipment and supplies, and occupancy services, while proactively developing and maintaining client relationships to ensure that expected service levels are achieved. This role is designed for a mechanic with a strong technical and hands-on aptitude, capable of supporting both operational coordination and practical on-site maintenance activities. What your day-to-day will look like:

• Actively support an environment of teamwork, cooperation, performance excellence, and personal success through hands-on maintenance and facilities coordination

• Conduct daily walkthroughs to ensure a clean and organized office, and respond to all work orders in a timely manner, ensuring KPI compliance and excellent customer service

• Provide hands-on facilities support including general building repairs and maintenance such as troubleshooting and assessing lighting, HVAC, and electrical issues, performing minor plumbing repairs, office furniture systems repair, and general interior maintenance

• Perform routine facility inspections, identify mechanical, plumbing, or equipment deficiencies, and either correct issues directly when appropriate or clearly communicate findings and repair needs to engineering teams and specialty vendors

• Schedule and manage repairs, maintenance, and other client requests, tracking all items to completion while maintaining and updating accurate site and service records and documentation

• Assist with troubleshooting and basic repair of kitchen and pantry equipment, including water supply lines, filter replacements, and general equipment upkeep

• Support preventive maintenance execution and participate in maintenance and repair efforts alongside engineering and vendor teams, responding to after-hours maintenance emergencies as required

Required qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED

• 3-5 years of experience in facilities, property management, hospitality, or related fields

• Demonstrated experience in building maintenance, troubleshooting, and hands-on facilities work

• Understanding of basic technical aspects of property systems, including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, fire protection systems, and mechanical & electrical systems

• Strong customer service, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strict adherence to safety procedures and regulatory requirements

Preferred qualifications:

• Tech-savvy with advanced proficiency in CMMS systems and digital facilities management platforms

• Proficiency in a range of information technology tools and platforms, including Google Workspace and Microsoft Office

• Familiarity with a comprehensive range of hand and power tools commonly used in building maintenance and handyman work

• Experience coordinating site operations in accordance with policies, procedures, and contract scope

• Track record of delivering exceptional quality of service as reflected by client feedback

• Experience supporting landlord relations and management of building access passes

Location: New York, NY

Schedule: M-F 8AM - 5PM
