Chemours is seeking a Regulatory Advocacy Senior Consultant to join our growing TSS Product Sustainability and Regulatory Advocacy team. This position will be available at Wilmington, DE and report directly to the Director Sustainability and Regulatory Advocacy
As a key member of the TSS Regulatory Advocacy Team, your focus will be on regulations impacting refrigerants, foam, propellants, and related markets in the areas of Climate Change, Chemical Policy regulations, Circularity regulations and emerging regulations with specific TSS impact. Your primary responsibility will be performing complex regulatory assessments; participating in stakeholder engagement sessions; drafting of petitions, comments and submissions to regulatory agencies; and communicating regulatory updates in support of US and Canadian National and State/Provence level regulatory actions for the TSS business.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
You will be responsible to work with cross functional teams on submissions for proactive and reactive regulatory actions (examples: US EPA SNAP (Significant New Alternatives Policy), US EPA AIM (American Innovation and Manufacturing) ACT, Canada HFC regulations, etc)
You will monitor for new actions and participate in the regulatory process from initiation to final rule stages including summary of final rule impact, communications needed and support for compliance aspects.
You will monitor and communicate regulatory updates and changes that impact Chemours products to the relevant internal stakeholders.
You will collaborate with the cross functional and business unit stakeholders to identify process improvement opportunities leading to automation or other options
You will directly engage with the regulatory agencies and other external stakeholders
You will contribute to the development of regulatory recommendations and decisions to relevant stakeholders
You will create and deliver communications to business unit stakeholders to increase their regulatory awareness and answer questions.
The following is required for this role:
Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related field
5+ years of experience in the regulatory policy, compliance field or related
Proven excellent project management skills and tools
Ability to support a complex product portfolio for an international company
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
Results oriented individual
Ability to translate complex regulations into easy to understand points
The following is preferred for this role:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry/Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
Previous experience working with chemical policy regulations and/or the Clean Air Act and/or American Innovation and Manufacturing Act
Previous experience with HVACR Industry and Refrigerants specifically
Experienced in regulatory analysis and responses for submission of regulatory feedback
Experienced in direct engagement with EPA and/or state regulatory agencies
