MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability and willingness to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability and willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime, if necessary.
- Basic computer skills.
- Successful completion of the due diligence process to include, but not limited to, a Level II background check and drug test.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working in dietary at a long-term care facility.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
- The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Food Service Administrator and ensure that food is stored, prepared, distributed, and served under sanitary conditions.
- Maintain dish room, serving area, dining room, and food storage areas in an orderly and sanitary condition.
- Complete assigned cleaning tasks.
- Assist in the preparation of meals as assigned, pull and pre-prep foods as assigned, help setup, and serve all meals.
- Must have knowledge of the equipment, procedures and techniques used in cooking, baking, and/or meat cutting.
- Ability to read and follow recipes and/or other instructions.
- Record all temperatures in the temperature book (food and equipment).
- Report any faulty equipment to the supervisor.
- Assist with placing food items on serving lines and keep serving lines well stocked.
- Maintain, check, and control kitchen inventory to determine quantities available as well as amounts needed for operations.
- Assist with purchase requests for food, cleaning supplies, utensils, pots, pans, dishes, and paper products needed in the kitchen.
- Verify incoming shipments and receipts in the absence of stock person.
- Check in and put away stock items off the delivery trucks.
- Rotate stock throughout (dry storage, refrigerators, and freezers).
- Ensure all equipment is turned off properly and that all doors are locked at night prior to leaving.
