Senior Site Reliability Engineer | OHAI Cloud

Building off our Cloud momentum, Oracle has formed a new organization - Oracle Health Applications & Infrastructure. This team will focus on product development and product strategy for Oracle Health, while building out a complete platform supporting modernized, automated healthcare. This is a net new line of business, constructed with an entrepreneurial spirit that promotes an energetic and creative environment. Oracle's Product Operational Engineering team (part of Oracle Health) is looking to hire a Site Reliability engineer. In the role you will have a strong understanding of Linux system administration and use that knowledge to provide support, performance tuning and monitoring of systems critical to Cerner's cloud solutions. You will be able to collaborate closely with Software Engineers and fellow Site Reliability Engineers to provide quick and important feedback on production issues. In this role you will automate solutions to complex problems.  This is a REMOTE based role in the US. 

Additionally, as a Site Reliability Engineer you will work with public cloud technologies to help improve performance and reliability of our solutions. Including building and maintaining systems using Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code. A working knowledge of Terraform and Chef is preferred.

Work with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team on the shared full stack ownership of a collection of services and/or technology areas. Understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of production services. Responsible for the design and delivery of the critically important stack, with focus on security, resiliency, scale, and performance. Authority for end-to-end performance and operability. Partner with development teams in defining and implementing improvements in service architecture. Articulate technical characteristics of services and technology areas and guide Development Teams to engineer and add premier capabilities to the Oracle Cloud service portfolio. Understand and communicate the scale, capacity, security, performance attributes, and requirements of the service and technology stack. Demonstrate clear understanding of automation and orchestration principles. Act as ultimate escalation point for complex or critical issues that have not yet been documented as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Apply a deep understanding of service topology and their dependencies required to solve issues and define mitigations. Understand and explain the affect of product architecture decisions on distributed systems. Professional curiosity and a desire to a develop deep understanding of services and technologies.

Job Requirements 

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or equivalent experience
• Linux 2+ years 
• Scripting experience (python, bash) 2+ years 
• Cloud experience IaaS (infrastructure as code IaC, Configuration as code)
• The ability to obtain federal security clearance is necessary for this role which requires you to be a US CITIZEN

US: Hiring Range: from $79,000 to $158,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
