Job Description:
The IT PMO Summer Intern will support the continued maturation of the PMO by assisting with Smartsheet project data cleanup, dashboard development, and reporting preparation. This role offers hands-on exposure to portfolio management, executive reporting, and PMO operations within a public sector IT environment. The intern will gain practical experience in how data, governance, and reporting drive strategic decision-making.
Job Duties:
Assist with Smartsheet project workspace cleanup, standardization, and data quality improvement.
Support development and refinement of PMO dashboards and portfolio reporting views.
Help prepare foundational reporting structures for FY26 executive and operational reporting.
Analyze project data for completeness and alignment with PMO standards.
Contribute to documentation of PMO processes and reporting methodologies.
Provide support on special PMO initiatives related to project intake, governance, or portfolio visibility.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
Exposure to Smartsheet, Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools (preferred but not required).
Basic understanding of project management concepts or frameworks.
Interest in Project Management, Operations, or Organizational Strategy.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data.
Clear written communication skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team.
Interest in process improvement and operational effectiveness.
Pursuing a degree in Business, Information Systems, Public Administration, Data Analytics, or related field.
This internship is unpaid and designed to support students or recent graduates seeking practical experience in the field. Interns may be eligible to earn academic credit through their college or university.
