Position Title: Junior Database Analyst

Location: Portsmouth, NH / Hybrid

Clearance: Secret

The Database Analyst Senior is to direct, evaluate, review and manage Dept. of State database resources and services while ensuring high levels of data quality. These duties can vary within a department and include developing, implementing, and overseeing database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software.

• Design logical and physical databases or reviews description of changes to database design to understand the impact to the application and operation.
• Develop and deploy reports and extraction, transformation, and loading process packages to support applications data integration and operation needs.
• Assist application and web development staff and users on database solutions to business problems; data warehouse architectures; database management system facilities; and capabilities, operation, and tuning of databases.
• Administer, maintain, develop and implement policies and procedure for ensuring the security and integrity of the database.
• Perform database and software life-cycle activities to ensure highest level of system performance and availability and compliance with business requirements.
• Perform database backup and monitor scheduled database jobs at daily basis.
• Apply database service patch to ensure database compliance with regulation and polices.
• Monitor, administer, and implement performance on database systems as well as database performance optimization, develop/change database indices, redesign database structure and reload data into a database.
• Coordinate system backup team to ensure database is fully backup and stored at designated environment.
• Work with application developers to implement business intelligence reports to meet organization needs.
• Administer and use of current and emerging database tools, strategies and technologies.
• Evaluate and recommends available database management system (DBMS) products.

Basic Qualifications

• Two (2) or more years' experience in ORACLE database administration or relevant experience.
• Two (2) or more years' experience in Microsoft Server Reporting Services, Server Integration Services development and implementation, Transact-Structured Query Language experience preferred.
• Microsoft Certified Professional or Microsoft Certified Database Administrator preferred
• Strong Administration skills with SQL Server 2008 R2 or above preferred
