Job Summary:

PLNU is seeking a passionate and mission-driven leader to serve as the Head Women’s Golf Coach, building a competitive program rooted in excellence, faith, and holistic student development. This role will lead all aspects of the women’s golf program while fostering an environment where student-athletes thrive academically, spiritually, and athletically. The ideal candidate brings strong coaching expertise, a commitment to mentorship, and the ability to cultivate a program aligned with the University’s mission.

Salary:
Pay range $70,304 - $76,163
Actual salary offered is determined by the candidate’s experience, education, skills, and other factors, including internal equity and university funding resources.

Job Description:

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to build and sustain a competitive collegiate golf program

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop student-athletes holistically

  • Strategic mindset with experience in recruitment planning and talent evaluation

  • Ability to foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and sportsmanship

  • Effective communicator who can build relationships across campus and within athletics

  • Experience supporting student success, retention, and graduation outcomes

  • Ability to integrate program goals with broader athletic department initiatives

  • Organized and detail-oriented with strong administrative and program management skills

  • Experience engaging alumni, donors, or supporters in program development

  • Knowledge and experience working with a diverse population is preferred

  • Ability to travel regularly, including overnight and weekend travel, to support team competitions and recruiting activities

  • Capacity to manage travel logistics and represent the University professionally during tournaments and related events 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Direct and oversee all aspects of the women’s golf program, including planning, operations, and competition

  • Develop and implement strategies that align with the University’s mission and student development goals

  • Lead recruiting efforts to attract and retain student-athletes who align with institutional values and academic expectations

  • Cultivate a team culture that supports academic success, retention, and timely graduation

  • Mentor student-athletes in their athletic, academic, personal, and spiritual growth

  • Hire and supervise an assistant coach who aligns with the University’s mission, fostering a culture of excellence, character development, and student-athlete successCollaborate with athletics leadership to support departmental initiatives and strategic priorities

  • Promote engagement and visibility of the program within the campus community

  • Lead program-related fundraising initiatives, including collaboration on the rebranded golf tournament

  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support the success of the program

  • Travel with the team to competitions, providing coaching, supervision, and leadership during tournaments

  • Coordinate and manage team travel logistics, including itineraries, transportation, and tournament preparation

Qualifications

  • Coaching experience and proven ability as a golf coach

  • Ability to understand the complexity of student involvement in a Christian higher education setting and to mentor athletes to be successful in the total university experie
