$20 - $26/hour

Job Description:

Job Summary:

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for managing and processing all invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payment of all creditors in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner as well as responding to vendor inquiries, performing financial period closing processes and general accounting support. This role plays a key part in ensuring the company’s financial obligations are met according to policy and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review, verify, and process vendor invoices and expense reports.
• Match purchase orders and receipts to invoices.
• Code invoices to appropriate general ledger accounts.
• Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions and vendor statements.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in month-end closing processes related to AP.
• Maintain accurate historical records and filing systems (digital or physical).
• Support audits by providing required documentation and reports.
• Assist with improving AP processes and controls as needed.
• Other general duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in an AP or general accounting role.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite).
• High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with ERP systems.
• Familiarity with1099 reporting.
