The Boeing Company is looking for an Embedded Linux Software Engineer – Mid-Level Hardware Lab Manager to join the Linux Embedded Platform Team located in Mesa, Arizona.
This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Engineering Test & Technology (ET&T) business organization.
The Linux Embedded Platform Team is seeking a software developer who has expertise in Linux platform building and hardware in the loop (HIL) lab setup and testing. In this role, you will develop, deploy, and maintain Linux Operating Systems for Safety-Critical and non-Safety critical applications. The Hardware Lab Manager will work across multi-disciplinary teams to design, develop and support HIL capabilities in the Boeing Linux Lab located in Mesa AZ. The Boeing Linux lab will support development and testing of curated linux distributions as well as other enterprise software capabilities. This is a highly visible, multi-year strategic effort that impacts all areas of the enterprise.

Position Responsibilities:
Design, develop, document and assemble HIL lab environments within the Boeing Linux Lab
Support activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software/hardware systems
Development of code and integration of software components into a fully functional software system
Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
Supports development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics
Plans, executes and documents software research and development projects
Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards
Ability to learn and adapt quickly

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
5+ years of experience with C or C++ real time software development or completed college level coursework in C or C++ programming in a real time environment
5+ years of experience in Python programming
Experience integrating software with embedded hardware platforms in a lab environment
Experience developing Linux and/or Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) software
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience designing and assembling embedded hardware test environments
Experience with HW debuggers (i.e. JTAG, logic analyzers, bus analyzers, etc...)
Experience with HIL embedded testing environments and automation techniques
Experience contributing to Open Source Software (O
