The Opportunity

Michelin is looking for a Financial Accountant to join our growing team. The Financial Accountant will play a significant role in providing technical accounting support for the Company. This role is meticulous and brings value by providing our business partners timely data and analysis to assist in the accurate accounting of the financial data. The position presents the company’s performance in accurate financial documents. Are you analytical but can also communicate your findings in a clear and understandable way? You will perform accounting research in conjunction with our European counterparts to provide management with accurately stated financial documents. The position will also focus on continuous improvement to align business processes with accounting requirements in a dynamic environment!

Our headquarters is in Greenville, SC, conveniently located within driving distance to east coast beaches, the Blue Ridge Mountains and large cities like Atlanta and Charlotte. The mild climate, charming downtown, and impressive culinary scene are just a few of the perks of living here.

What You Will Do:

Perform month end closing duties as prescribed for responsible companies in line with the month-end close schedule.

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with the applicable standards (IFRS or GAAP), validated formatted and submitted to local authorities following country guidelines.

Assist in researching ad hoc technical accounting matters and develop draft accounting memos supporting accounting position!

Report the accounting conclusions reached to other members within in Accounting and Controlling to ensure the related transactions are recorded and disclosed accurately.

Work with the external auditors to ensure a clean and timely mid-year review and year end audit.

Skilled at in-depth financial analysis and providing authority in financial perspective and opinions. This includes the ability build analysis using sophisticated Excel skills such as pivot tables, charts and graphs, and the expertise to analyze account information with trends.

Proven ability to work with ambiguity, perform Ad-Hoc analysis with limited direction and perform in a constantly evolving environment.

What You Will Bring:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience.

CPA preferred.

Shared services experience is a plus!

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Sophisticated Microsoft Excel skills.

ERP systems experience preferred – mainly SAP; also Oracle, JD Edwards, Concur, and BI.

Education

• CPA is preferred.
• MBA or equivalent experience is an asset.
