Job Description
The Global Content Services organization is responsible for the global processes and technologies for product content management and delivery in Konecranes. We are now looking for an experienced and talented Global Terminology Specialist to join our team and take ownership of this important area of expertise.
As a Global Terminology Specialist, you will be leading and managing all aspects of terminology development and governance within our organization. This role combines hands-on expertise in terminology management with strategic oversight of terminology processes and tools, ensuring consistency, clarity, and accuracy across all company processes. The ideal candidate possesses a strong linguistic background, the ability to implement and optimize processes and to establish terminology work as one of the key support processes at Konecranes.
Your key responsibilities:
- Development of a multilingual terminology database, from linguistic research to validation. Continuous improvement of the database, ensuring that it remains a key resource for all stakeholders.
- Terminology process and tool development: continuous evaluation and optimization of terminology tools and workflows to ensure they are effective, streamlined, and support high-quality output.
- Governance and quality control: development of terminology governance to oversee terminology approval, updates, and compliance with corporate standards.
- Cross-Functional collaboration with product management, engineering, marketing, and localization to ensure terminology processes align with the overall business objectives.
- Localization support: close co-operation with localization teams to support the adaptation of terminology for different languages.
- Stakeholder engagement: manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to gather feedback and drive continuous improvement in terminology management.
- Provide regular training to ensure that terminology guidelines are understood and adhered to across all corporate functions.
Qualifications
What we expect from you:
- Suitable education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Linguistics, Translation, Terminology Management, or a related field.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience as a terminologist or in a related terminology management role, with a background in process development. Previous experience in the field of information design, technical communications and working with taxonomies is an advantage.
- Tools: Expertise in terminology management tools (e.g. Kaleidoscope Quickterm) and familiarity with localization tools and content management systems.
- Languages: Fluency in English and Finnish is required. German is also preferred. In addition, understanding of multilingual terminology challenges.
- Strong project management skills with experience in leading cross-functional initiatives
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
