This role is focuses primarily on Content Management Systems (CMS) with some UI Engineering. Supervises a target size team of 10 or more IT employees that are responsible for the development and delivery of IT related work relative to the technical sub families including Agile, Application Design and Programming, Business Support, Database, Systems Architecture and Engineering, Systems Technical Support, and Technical Disciplines of Software Delivery Proj/Prog Mgmt and Technology Security. If the org or direct reports are more Network focused then the Network supervisory jobs should be used.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Team Supervision: Oversee a team of 10 or more IT employees working in areas such as Agile, Application Design and Programming, Business Support, Database, Systems Architecture and Engineering, Systems Technical Support, and Software Delivery Project/Program Management and Technology Security.
- Project Management: Work closely with departments and stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Strategic Direction: Provide strategic technical direction and assist in developing the UI and Content Management platform roadmap in alignment with business needs.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the main contact with other organizations to identify and quantify business issues associated with specific projects.
- Communication Skills: Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly to peers, developers, and senior leaders.
- Agile Methodologies: Experience working within Agile/Scrum/Kanban development teams.
- Leadership and Mentoring: Provide technical leadership, mentor and guide team members, and promote professional development.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, architecture, and quality assurance, to ensure successful project delivery.
- Project Scheduling and Budgeting: Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation.
- Best Practices: Establish and maintain engineering best practices, processes, and standards for the team.
- Monitoring and Decision Making: Monitor project progress and make data-driven decisions to adjust priorities, resources, or timelines as needed.
- Technology Evaluation: Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to improve team efficiency and product quality.
- Status Reporting: Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and executive leadership in a timely manner.
- Work Environment: Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Technical Solutions: Determine the feasibility and scalability of Content Management Platforms to solve business needs, interacting with business and product owners to define technical solutions.
Job Contribution:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 10+ years in Engineering or Development roles (Full Stack Development).
- 8+ years in architecture, design of systems, or software development.
- 6+ years working with Content Management platforms like TeamSite, AEM, Sanity.io, etc. (CMS)
- 3+ years in a leadership capacity, coaching and mentoring engineers and developers.
- 3+ years with build and CICD technologies: GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus, or Sonar.
- 3+ years in Unit and Function testing using Junit, Spock, Mockito/JMock, Selenium, Cucumber, SoapUI, or Postman.
- 4+ years building web applications using HTML5, JavaScript frameworks, and CSS3, React, Node.js, Next.js.
- 2+ years with front-end tools such as Webpack, Yarn, Jest, Gulp.
- 2+ years in cloud technologies: AWS, Azure, OpenStack, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Chef, or Terraform.
