Professor of Accounting (Assistant or Associate)

Description

The McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin invites applications for two full-time positions with the Shulkin Department of Accounting, at the rank of tenure-track assistant professor (with or without experience) or tenured associate professor, to begin in the academic year of 2027-2028. Applicants with financial-archival research interests are especially encouraged to apply for priority consideration for one of the postions. 

Our faculty is comprised of scholars with a variety of backgrounds and interests.  Successful applicants will be expected to establish an internationally recognized research program at the University of Texas, mentor graduate students, and teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The predominant mode of instruction and research is in-person, such that faculty appointed for employment shall reside in the proximate area of the work site for the duration of their appointment and be able to maintain a daily in-person schedule at the assigned work site.

Qualifications

Successful applicants must have strong research and teaching capabilities. A Ph.D. degree should either be completed or very near completion with the expectation of completion by the start date of the appointment.

New PhD graduates should also provide names and email contact information for three faculty willing to provide letters of reference. At their discretion, applicants with experience as an assistant or associate professor may omit names of references initially but will be asked for references if selected as finalists.
