The Opportunity:

Entry level position; monitor the production process system to ensure proper operation. Inspect, check and document process production activities. Perform container preparation, bulk and non-bulk filling, shipping and receiving activities and other production and facility capacities as assigned. Ensure safety, quality of workmanship, efficiency and timeliness when performing the assigned work.

You will be paired up with experienced engineers who will mentor you in the maintenance and repair of various Medical Devices, Bio-Medical & Laboratory type products. You will be learning the theory with hands on experience as well as fulfilling the academic requirements of an apprenticeship. 

 

Working in partnership with AAMI, we can offer the ideal platform from which apprentices can learn both the practical and theoretical elements of a BMET Apprenticeship. 

 
Apprentices working in our in-house department will learn foundation techniques to carry out low-risk, routine, technical and scientific procedures. The BMET Apprenticeship is a twi-year hybrid program that combines education & 4,000 6,000 hours of paid, on-the-job, competency-based learning and will provide an excellent insight into aspects of healthcare science.

Scope of Role:

Our Bio-Medical Engineers work with private sector with a 100% focus on supporting global clinical trials to ensure that medical equipment is working correctly and safe to use. 

 

This broadly consists of: 

 

  • Maintenance, Calibration & Routine Service to ensure that the diverse range of equipment we supply is functioning correctly & is performing to specification. 

 

  • On occasion repair, re-calibration or re-configuration activity is required if a products performance is performing outside of its defined specification. 

 

  • This is all achieved with the help of a back-office system of account managers, databases, software, engineers, contracts managers and more which all work together to ensure we provide a great service to our customers. 

 

  • As a Bio-Medical Engineering Apprentice, you will be paired up with experienced engineers who will mentor you in the maintenance and repair of various Bio-Medical & Laboratory products. 

 

  • You will be learning the theory with hands on experience as well as fulfilling the academic requirements of an apprenticeship 

 

 

 

As part of your studies, you will be required to undertake 1 day study per week and will be working with your Tutor/Assessor who will support you through your learning. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS  

(Education/Training, Experience and Certifications) 

 

  • You will be trained from Level 2 to Level 5 with the option of honours at the end. This is a great opportunity to work in an interesting field with a company that is a leader in the field.
