Position Summary

The Director, Cendakimab develops and executes strategic medical and launch plans, including for new indications and new mechanisms of action. The Medical Scientist is the scientific expert within the WW Medical team for Cendakimab, providing sound, strategic medical advice and training to relevant stakeholders. This position requires the ability to organize and simply communicate complex data and to align others behind a medical strategy across a matrix and partnerships. This individual will set clear and challenging targets that allow skilled and empowered professionals to accomplish business objectives consistent with department/program goals. This position requires objective and effective decision making, and the ability to successfully manage integration points across US functional and commercialization areas to ensure alignment. This position will report to the Sr. Director, Cendakimab

Role and Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the matrix execution of a medical plan that is both product specific and disease area focused and in alignment with WW Medical, WW Commercial  translating appropriate Commercial and HQM strategies into effective US Medical launch and life cycle management activities

  • Develop, communicate, and execute the medical strategy plan for Cendakimab worldwide.

  • Responsible for managing medical budget to ensure execution to defined targets.

  • Lead regional medical affairs strategies in conjunction with clinical development, market access and commercial colleagues with focus on Major Markets and Intercontinental.

  • Provide ongoing expertise to execute on congress strategy, field medical plans, home office training, execution of TL plan and other medical strategies.

  • Provides expert opinion on the current trends in the pathophysiology, diagnosis, existing and emerging treatment options as well as unmet medical needs in eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders to inform key medical and business decisions.

  • Provide medical support to the WW medical affairs organization, including developing and delivering training curriculum and content for market field medical associates.

  • Develop and execute the medical data generation plan, Phase 4 and ISR planning, delivery of publication plan and establishing BMS as a leader in the therapeutic space.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with WW key opinion leaders, key professional societies, and organizations in collaboration with other global medical affairs functions and clinical colleagues through scientific dialogue pertinent to BMS I&F interest. Lead and participate in WW advisory meetings with WW opinion leaders.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • M.D., D.O., PhD, PharmD or equivalent degree, with minimum 7+ years experience in the pharma/biopharma industry with demonstrated medical affairs experience in EU / WW markets

  • Minimum 4 years of medical affairs (WW or US) specific experience in Immunology.

  • Direct gastroenterology or launch experience is ideal

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong formal presentation skills

  • Excellent planning and organization skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills commensurate with the need to work closely with both external physicians/scientists and numerous in-house support groups

  • Ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and integrity, represent the company’s high ethics, moral behavior, and professionalism
