About the Role
As part of the Rivoli Lighting Engineering Center, you will join the Optical Engineering Team, reporting to the Optical Engineering Manager. You will design optical elements for automotive lighting in collaboration with RFQ, Product Engineering and engineering sub-sections.
Your Responsibilities

Work in close collaboration with RFQ Team and Product Engineering for analysis and presentation of technical solutions to meet the requirements defined in customer contract.

Design complex optical lighting elements to satisfy both regulation and customer requirements for photometric performance and lighting appearance.

Define CAD files, consistent with MAGNA Standards, which communicate design intent from a singular component to a multi-component assembly.

Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Control as main point of contact for design and geometry related issues or improvements and with Purchasing to help source new purchased components and collect the related engineering documentation.

Collaborate with Technical Experts in maintaining and updating design checklist and design standard part library best practices gained from current experience.

Support the homologation phase and collaborate with Laboratories to implement physical measurements, analysis of photometric attributes, operating procedures and guidelines for photometric equipment and photo lab personnel.

Peer mentor junior colleagues to develop skill set and technical competences.

Participate in weekly technical meetings with the customers.
Who we are looking for

Degree in Physics
-
Italian and English Fluency, both oral and written communication

Capability of delivering effectively under multiple priorities/project

Experience in optical design for lighting components, preferably in the automotive industry

Ability to Challenge the status quo and to look for new ways to contribute and continuously improve.

Collaborative approach and effectiveness in working in a matrix organization

Critical Thinker with a can-do attitude

Knowledge of Optics, Photometry and Physics

Strong 3d CAD tool knowledge (i.e., Catia)

PDP knowledge

Availability for business travels (5/10% of time)
