Staff Engineer, Backend (Golang)

We seek a highly skilled and experienced Staff Engineer with a strong focus on backend development. As a member of our talented team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing authentication mechanisms from a backend perspective, developing and maintaining backend systems, and collaborating closely with the team to ensure seamless integration and functionality across platforms.

What you’ll do:

• Driving design and architecture discussions and building alignment on complex technical decisions regarding authentication mechanisms to strengthen security and compliance.
• Develop and maintain backend systems with a focus on the ability to traverse efficiently.
• Collaborate closely with the team to ensure seamless integration and functionality across platforms.
• Utilize Golang for backend development tasks, ensuring code quality and efficiency.
• Implement and manage databases using GCP and SQL, ensuring data integrity and performance.
• Analyze metrics, gather insights, and implement observability tools to monitor system health and performance.
• Act as a data-driven engineer, leveraging metrics and analytics to drive decisions and improvements.

Who you are:

• 8+ years experience in backend development, with a strong emphasis on Golang.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in backend development, with a strong emphasis on Golang.
• Familiarity with GCP and SQL for database management and operations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• A team player with a collaborative mindset, demonstrating kindness and self-awareness.
  Experience with metrics and analytics tools for monitoring and observability.
• Previous work in a senior engineering role, showcasing leadership and mentorship abilities.

The approximate compensation range for this role is $230,000-$285,000. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by several factors, including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
